The curriculum is well planned, graded and innovative as per standard guidelines.

At Vagdevi, we recognize that all students have different strengths, aptitudes, interests and areas for development. The teachers incorporate extension and enhancement activities into the curriculum to stretch, challenge and intrigue the students.

Regular enrichment programs, orientation and training sessions by eminent educationalists & scientists enable and strengthen the teaching capabilities of teachers and acquaint them with new ideas and development which in turn help them gain better subject knowledge.

Green Initiative Programme

Vagdevi Vilas School is dedicated to fostering a sustainable future through its green initiatives. As part of our commitment to environmental awareness and conservation, we have implemented a Rain Water Harvesting Unit on our campus. This initiative serves multiple purposes, including educating students about the importance of water conservation and combating the effects of climate change. Our Rain Water Harvesting system efficiently collects and utilizes rainwater from roof tops and surface run-off. With a capacity of 10,00,000 liters, three separate collection tanks ensure that no rainwater goes to waste. The harvested rainwater is then utilized for gardening and sanitary purposes, reducing our reliance on external water sources. By actively practicing Rain Water Harvesting, Vagdevi Vilas School promotes responsible water management and empowers students to become stewards of the environment. Join us in our green initiatives and make a positive impact on our planet’s future.

Other green initiatives such as rooftop solar power generation units, paper recycling, biogas plant and vermicompost unit are maintained by the R&D department and are used to motivate the students and instill environmental awareness and responsibility among them. Various programmes on environment and energy conservation are conducted in association with organisations such as IISc, TERI, INSEF and Schneider Electric India Pvt Ltd. These programmes encourage students to study nature and learn to value it.

The Vagdevi Kala & Vignan Utsav

Cultural activities prepare students for real life and strengthen their personal skills. Cultural activities not only help students to identify themselves, but also improve skills such as organizational, presentation, leadership and interpersonal communication.

Every year, Vagdevi Kala Utsav and Vagdevi Vignan Utsav are celebrated with a theme. These Utsavs aim at creating better awareness and encourage students to share their innovative ideas to create a better world. These events also help the students to interact with several prominent personalities from various fields.

It also enables the students to experience the rich and vibrant Indian Culture in all its facets through festivals, food, attire and art forms so that they internalize a culture that reflects their identity, respect their self-esteem and bind them with their fellow citizens in a diverse pluralistic society.

These Mega events facilitate students to experience the beauty of colours, enjoy the melody of sounds, wonder at the rhythm and symmetry of shapes. It makes them aesthetically alive by induction into various arts – so they develop graceful expressions through dance, feel the ecstasy of music, emote through drama and express their abstract feelings through painting.

By attending cultural events, students at Vagdevi Vilas Institutions experience the diverse offerings of culture and broaden their horizons.

Guidance and Counselling

Guidance and Counselling are important for students as schools have a huge role in bringing out the best in them. Good conduct is coveted, but sometimes young minds need guidance to polish their personality. Through counselling, children are given advice on how to manage and deal with emotional conflict and personal problems.

Guidance and Counselling Department aims to provide a foundation for every student to understand their interests, strengths, abilities and challenges to bring about holistic development. It helps every student become a well-adjusted, socially and emotionally balanced individual. Counselling helps incorporate valuable lessons in their daily life.

The role of guidance & counselling:

Various activities are conducted through individual and group counselling which enable the students to deal with their emotional, personal and academic problems and bring about awareness. Special Life Skill classes are conducted effectively to prepare students to meet the challenges of future.

Special Mentoring Sessions and Workshops are designed to meet the student’s needs as identified by parents, teachers and students themselves. Counselling helps every student recognise one’s inner potential, set goals and overcome difficulties.

Physical Education

The development of mind and body go hand in hand. Physical education plays a vital role in creating confident individuals, therefore is an integral part of our educational system. Sports and Games are important aspects of a child’s growth and overall development. It is essential to the development of motor skills and the enhancement of reflexes. Activities on the playfield develop the qualities of teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence and self-esteem. It also strengthens them to face the challenges of an increasingly competitive world.

Our modern, well-equipped sports room, sprawling playground, state-of-the-art basketball court, cricket pitch, volleyball & throw ball court, football ground and sophisticated swimming pool help students to excel and become adept in the sport of their choice. Students are trained in shuttle badminton, kho-kho, tennikoit and kabaddi as well. Indoor games include chess, table tennis and carrom. Yoga practice is a compulsory part of the syllabi.

Students are encouraged to participate in various Inter-school and Intra-school tournaments.

We offer a variety of sports and games for the students that encourage them to explore and display their special sporting talents and focus on developing their gross motor skills and coordination. Special training regimes are individually developed by highly qualified and experienced instructors keeping in view the ability, talent and potential of every child. They help the students to enhance their physical fitness and skill development through regular activities.

Our after-school sports coaching programme helps students to pursue their passion and scale great heights in their chosen discipline.

Research & Development Department

Vagdevi Vilas Institutions is unique in its own way of having a Research and Development Department, which is exclusively dedicated to encouraging scientific intrigue among the young minds. The R&D department strives to provide a practical approach to learning through various hands-on activities and experiments. Apart from helping students to perform various experiments based on the syllabus, emphasis is also laid on developing those qualities in the students which propel them to become young innovators and change-makers.

The R&D department also designs and conducts Olympiads in Science, Mathematics and English. The questions are designed at high standards to make students competitive at the global level. The students who top these Olympiads are also awarded scientific tools and instruments in order to motivate & pursue their dreams. The R&D department has initiated a new approach to school education by incorporating skill development programmes at the High School level. The programmes such as basic electronics, electrical wiring, workshop practice, plumbing etc, aim to make students independent and confident by the time they graduate.

The key aspects facilitated by R&D Department are:

  • Guiding students in the process of patenting their ideas and innovations.
  • Using science tech-park to help students understand scientific concepts in a better way.
  • Participation of students in the Nature Science Internship Programme- an initiative of IISc in association with Adamya Chethana Foundation.
  • Conducting 'Young Wizards', a class for students interested in experimenting and exploring various concepts in Mathematics and Science through ‘hands-on’ activities.
  • Conducting a 'Young Scientists' summer camp to encourage the scientific curiosity of the students through model-making sessions.
  • Special ‘hands-on’ learning approach to Pre-Primary students.
  • Participation in environmental rallies, lake conferences etc.
